Assesment Camp of Persons With Blindness Organised at Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education Bijbehara

Composite Regional Centre Srinagar J&K organised Assessment Camp in collaboration with Humanity Welfare Organisation HELPLine Bijbehara Anantnag in South Kashmir at zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education Pahlipora sSmthan Bijbehara where 30 Beneficiaries have been identified after proper assessment taken by the professionals of Composite Regional Centre Srinagar J&k.

30 Visually impaired youth have been identified and may be distributed smart canes on 4th January 2020 on eve of world Braille day . Distribution is under one of the Schemes of Department of Empowerment Of Persons with Disabilities Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Government of India.

Zaiba Aapa Institute of inclusive Education Pahlipora Semthan Bijbehara is one of the renowned institute functional in south Kashmir since 2006 in which around 130 students with bench mark disabilities are given free education. On the eve Mr vinod Kumar and Dr Bilal sensitised youth with disabilities about the measures for saving vision and ensuring safe Mobililty in order to live an independent life.

The follow up of the programme will be distribution of smart canes meant for safe mobility among the persons with visual disabilities on 4th January 2021, on eve of World Braille Day. In addition persons facing hearing disabilities would be given hearing aids.

In addition a sensitization regarding menstrual hygiene among young girls with disabilities would be conducted on the day in collaboration with ELFA International Srinagar.
