Srinagar, October 21:
Authorities have beefed up restrictions in Srinagar and other major towns of the valley as Kashmir is observing 105th consecutive day of shutdown today. .
Shops, commercial establishments, schools, other institutions remain shut in view of the restrictions and shutdown.
The entry points at Regal Chowk and Amira Kadal to Lal Chowk , Srinagar are sealed with barbed wires and manned by groups of Government forces.
In Batamaloo area of Srinagar , cops drove through alleys this morning asking people to stay indoors thus enforcing strict curfew.
Major towns in north Kashmir are witnessing a complete shutdown today.
Forces carried out a massive crackdown—2nd time in the current week in Baramulla town.
In Kupwara, which witnessed significant commercial activities in the last few days, shops are closed today and transport is sparse.
Reports said that the Four South Kashmir districts are observing shutdown and there is very less movement of private traffic today.
Meanwhile, United Jihad Council chief and Hizbul Mujahideen supreme commander, Syed Salahuddin has asked Pakistan to “extends military support to Kashmiri militants”.
