DC Kulgam distributes 20 thousand masks, disinfectants among BDC’s, Sarpanchs of 3 Blocks

KULGAM, APRIL 21: Continuing its efforts to contain the spread of COVOD-19 Rural Development Department Kulgam, distributed 20 thousand masks, 1 thousand liters of disinfectants and sanitizers among  the BDC’s and Sarpanchs of three blocks of Qaimoo, Frisal and Kund.

The distribution was carried out at mini-secretariat Kulgam and Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat distributed personal hygiene and safety items among the PRI members.

Present on occasion were, ADDC, ADC, ACR, DPO and other officers

The BDC’s and Sarpanchs were asked to distribute these masks among the people in their respective areas and spray the disinfectants in their respective areas , to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner urged these members to ensure social distancing in their areas and underlined their important role in containing the spread of this dreadful disease.

Rural development department is playing proactive role in containing the Corona virus infection, said the DPO, Kulgam, Mohammad Imran Khan while sharing details he said that the department has distributed 2 lac masks in Panchayats across the district and have sprayed thousands of liters of disinfectants. He said that the process will continue till the eradication of the pandemic.

He added that more than 10 vehicles have been pressed into service and 150 workers have been assigned the task of fumigation and sanitation across all Panchayats in the district and the PRI members are also playing important role in the whole process.
