PAMPORE, May 06:
An encounter between security forces and militants is underway in Shar Shali area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. According to reports Two to three militants are believed to be trapped at the site.
Reports said that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hajam Mohalla Shar Shali area of Pampore after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of militants there, a police officer told Sachnews.He said as the forces were conducting the searches, the militants fired at them, triggering an encounter.
The search operation was going on, the officer said, adding further details are awaited.
