Court convicts woman in fake appointment case after 12 years trial

After twelve years trial, a court in Srinagar on Saturday convicted a woman in a case related to impersonation and fake appointment in animal husbandry department.

“The Crime Branch Kashmir secured conviction In Case FIR No. 22/2005 U/S 419,420 RPC ,related to impersonation, fake appointment in Animal Husbandry Department,” reads a statement issued by the crime branch.
The case was tried before the Court of 3rd Additional Munsiff Srinagar.
In the year 2005 Crime Branch Kashmir had received a complaint regarding illegal appointment of Mst.Ulfat wife of Munshi Reyaz Ahmad of Zadibal Srinagar.

Subsequently, a case FIR No. 22/2005 was registered in police station Crime Branch Kashmir. Charge sheet of the case was presented before the court of 3rd additional munsiff Srinagar.

“After marathon trial of 12 years the court convicted the accused lady to simple imprisonment for a period of one year and imposed a fine of Rs 3000 under section 419 Ranbir Penal Code.”

Further, the accused was sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment of one year and a fine of 5000 under section 420 RPC .

However both the Offences shall run concurrently. “In case of default in fine amount the convict shall undergo an imprisonment of six month.”
The case was dealt from the Prosecution side by APP Khurshid Ahmad Khan , Chief Prosecution Officer Qazi Qayoom under the supervision two veteren officers Director Prosecution Kashmir Nisar Hussain Drabu and Deputy Director Prosecution Kashmir, Maroof Ahmad Manhas. It has been a great decision of honourable Munsiff Court and hardwork of Prosecution Officers has yeilded the good result.
