District Admin Pulwama conducts demolition drive in Awantipora

PULWAMA, NOVEMBER 25: District Administration Pulwama today conducted demolition drive to clear the encroachments and illegal constructions along old National Highway at Awantipora, here.

The demolition drive was headed by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer and on the occasion various structures along old National Highway were razed to ground including a shopping complex, few houses and shops.

The DC said that District Administration has initiated action against the offenders who have raised structures illegally in the town particularly along National Highway and other places in the town.

He said that all encroachments which have been raised illegally will be demolished and no such construction will be allowed in future.

DC asked people not to indulge in illegal construction activities and encroachments as violators would be dealt strictly under law. He further added that the demolition drive in the town will pave way for decongestion while adding aesthetic value to the town.

The DC during the drive was accompanied by ADC Awantipora, Tehsildar Awantipora, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Awantipora, police and other officers and officials of concerned departments.
