Sports festival for children with disabilities organised in Anantnag

Anantnag, November 05:

Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline organised one day sports festival for children with disabilities. Around hundred children with different disabilities participated in various games like Carom, Chess, Tug Of War, Cricket and many other games. Jenab Dr Syed Farhat Hussain, District Social Welfare Officer Anantnag was the chief Guest on the occasion.

Talking on the Occasion the Honorary Chairman of organising organisation Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline, Javed Ahmad Tak said that due to COVID 19 infected children with disabilities remain custodians and couldn’t come out of houses.

They were forced to live stressful life. Thus it was important to provide platform for children with disabilities to utilise their energy in games and sports.

The children with disabilities are highly vulnerable and are social stigmatised. They never get opportunity to perform and compete at inclusive levels. Thus risky situations since August 5 and corona virus effects on the psyche of children with disabilities was negative, Tak added. Thus children with disabilities are full of capabilities and capacities and today the children showed their abilities through sports and games.

The children with visual disabilities, facing hearing disabilities and mental disabilities participation in sports and games rejected and defeated the coronavirus negative effects.

Team Childline Anantnag, resource persons of Samagrah Shiksha Abhiyan of district Anantnag, staff of Zaiba Aapa Institute of inclusive education Bijbehara facilitated the programme.

In the valedictory function Dr Syed Farhat Hussain distributed mementos and certificates among the participants. He declared every participant is the competent winner. Dr Farhat said that Humanity welfare Organisation HELPLine is a dedicated organisation advocating and working for the development of disabilities. I feel proud and refreshed in the events organised for children with Disabilities. I am always ready to join such events in future also , Dr Farhat Added.
