SRINAGAR, August 21:
The Department of Horticulture, Kashmir today observed “Sadbhavna Diwas”. On this occasion, a pledge taking ceremony was held at Directorate of Horticulture Rajbagh, Srinagar. Director General Horticulture, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (KAS) officiated the pledge. The ceremony was attended by the Officers/officials of the Department, officials told Sachnews.
On the occasion Director General Horticulture highlighted the importance of National Integration and Communal Harmony among the people of all religions, languages and regions. He also said that the Sadbhavna Diwas is celebrated to eschew violence and to promote goodwill among people by resolving all differences among each other through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.
Later, a farewell programme was organized at the Directorate of Horticulture to honour the outgoing Chief Horticulture officer, Srinagar Mr. C.L. Sharma, who has been promoted as Joint Director Horticulture, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion the Director General Horticulture congratulated the outgoing officer for his promotion. Describing the officer as a ‘man of action with little words’ he reminded, the officers and staff to follow his footsteps. Director General also presents the officer with a memento and a letter of appreciation. He also wished him success for his future endeavors.
